Program Structure & Team Selection
How does the selection process work for our Team 91 Connecticut Regional teams?
Team 91 Connecticut Cavalry represents our regional teams formed through our annual open tryout process. This year it will take place on July 15th and 16th. Players are evaluated by our coaching staff on technical skill, lacrosse IQ, athleticism, and coachability. We look for dedicated players committed to competing at the highest regional levels.
Will there be multiple teams per grade?
This is dependent on the depth and talent pool within a specific graduation year, we may field multiple teams if we have the players. This ensures every player is placed in an environment that maximizes their development, confidence, and playing time.
Who will be coaching my child’s team?
We pride ourselves on fielding an elite coaching staff featuring former collegiate All-Americans, current high school varsity coaches, and dedicated club professionals. Lead coaching assignments and off-season trainers for each grade can be viewed in the coaches section of our website.
What are the Team 91 North Elite teams and how does that differ from Team 91 Connecticut?
The Team 91 North Elite teams represent the absolute pinnacle of our regional talent pool and are formed through a separate, highly competitive evaluation process.
A Team 91 North Elite team will be selected for each age group and will be composed of the top players from Team 91 clubs in the Northeast, including Connecticut, Westchester, Long Island and Upstate NY.
The selection process is as follows:
Players must first successfully earn a spot on one of our Regional club rosters.
Roster players will then receive an invitation to attend an exclusive, high-intensity Team 91 North Elite Evaluation Training Camp this fall.
Our leadership and coaching staff will evaluate players head-to-head at this camp to select the final North Elite tournament rosters.
Are there opportunities for National Teams?
Yes. Our National Teams are entirely nomination-based. Players who demonstrate exceptional year-round skill, leadership, physical execution, and character on their regional rosters will be directly nominated by our coaching staff for evaluation and selection to these national-circuit rosters.

Training, Locations & Development Philosophy
What is your player development philosophy?
Training > Just Playing. While competing in high-stakes tournaments is a vital part of the club experience, our core philosophy centers on continuous, high-intensity player development. You cannot win the game on the weekend if you don't put in the work during the week. We prioritize deliberate practice, high-tempo repetitions, elite positional coaching, and situational lacrosse IQ over simply chasing tournament volume.
Where are regular season practices held?
To accommodate our families, we utilize premier, centrally located turf facilities located in Ridgefield, Fairfield, and Newtown. This guarantees top-tier playing surfaces, safe conditions, and consistent practice schedules under the lights.
What does the off-season training program look like?
Player progression does not stop when the summer tournament season ends. Our structured off-season program includes fall team practices, winter indoor skills clinics, and specialized positional training (shooting, individual defense, face-off, and goalie-specific development).
Where is off-season training located?
During the late fall and winter months, we transition indoors to top-tier regional dome and fieldhouse facilities located in Danbury and Wilton. This ensures uninterrupted, high-tempo, full-field and stickwork training regardless of Northeast winter weather.
